OUR NAME

Champagne Bechet de Breux takes its name from an ancient family history. It was our ancestors, the seigneury of Breux and their inhabitants, who were the first to shelter rows of grape vines on their land. If agricultural crises and phylloxera have gradually weakened the estate, today we wish to revive it by restoring its nobility.

THE PASSION OF THE LAND

The scent of the earth is perceptible, our Champagne allows it to be revealed. Source of life, the earth gives birth to a multitude of scents and textures, which our Champagne reveals. Because our vines express themselves differently depending on the seasons, our terroirs are located mid-slope, allowing us to avoid spring frosts, and facing south-east in order to be protected from the humidity of the morning and to benefit from the sun's rays the rest of the day. Thus all our terroirs are different and classified only as premier crus and grands crus.

KNOW-HOW

Our first pruning shears were given under the supervision of an old winemaker. To allow a quality harvest, we limit the number of bunches per vine and wait for the berries to be perfectly ripe. At the press, we have a pressing juice with a potential alcohol content of 10°, ideal but above all essential for a high-end Champagne. The following year, the blending of the different vintages, the different grape varieties (for the BdB) and the precise addition of dosage liqueurs take place. The diversity of our vines allows us to have access to ancestral reserves and opens up the range of our blending possibilities.
